Artful Start childcare, training & consulting
About Our Program
Artful start is a home-based certified childcare program designed for a small group of 4-5 infants/toddlers. In our program, children get the best of both worlds; a cozy home learning environment with a small group of peers, and a professional provider with over 3 decades of experience as a mom, infant/toddler specialist, and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Ed.
Program activities for your infant/toddler will include:
Yoga, Art, sign language, early literacy, early numeracy, STEM, , music and movement, cooking, and learning opportunities designed to support social/emotional growth and the development of empathy. We value the use of everyday objects for open-ended play, also offered are many wooden toys and ethnically diverse books and materials.
Our days follow a child’s natural rhythm, and routines are both predictable and flexible. Infants sleep, eat, and play on their own schedule. Older children have a flexible routine they can anticipate; greeting and free choice in early morning, breakfast, group activities, outdoor time, lunch, rest time, p.m snack, and individual interest time, before cleaning up to go home. Our goal is to have the day unfold according to the children’s interests; and to have a limited amount of transitions. Singing and reading are big parts of each day!
Parents are a child’s first teacher, and I am honored to have been a part of so many families’ and children’s lives. I hope to make things easier for you as a working parent, and to work in partnership with you in your child’s development.
Breakfast is served for those who arrive prior to 8 a.m. Parents of infants bring their own foods until they are safely eating table foods.
